The Best Foundation Inspiration & Innovation Conference 2023 at Silverstone Circuit
Our host Jenny Drummond, sports broadcast journalist with experience presenting on BBC Sport, BT Sport, Prime Video and more, kicked off the day alongside Best Foundation chair Trevor Worth. With a warm welcome and an overview of what was to come, the tone was set for a fantastic day.
Our first guest speaker was Piers Linney, former star of Dragon’s Den and Secret Millionaire. Piers spoke to our attendees about how we might see technology move forward in the coming years. He followed this with an open Q&A with our attendees. Piers’ talk really created a buzz about how we can all look to incorporate technology into business.
We next heard from Stuart McLeod from Cater Allen. He shared the very exciting announcement that soon Best Members will be able to offer their clients multiple forms of accounts (including Trust and Executor accounts) to their client’s courtesy of a new partnership between Best and Cater Allen.
Ben Mason took to the stage next to talk about an exclusive partnership that his company Kinvault are setting up with Best. Kinvault offers users a secure online vault that helps them organise and hand over their important life admin to their family when they’re no longer around. Keep a lookout for more information on this coming soon!
We were joined next by a one-off LegalTech panel sponsored by Verify 365, who joined us to talk about the introduction of electronic documents in various areas of the industry. The panel was made up of Azeem Rashid from Verify 365, Nic Muir from the Land Registry, Chris Jones from the Industry Working Group on Electronic Execution of Documents, Stephen Petch from the OPG and Aleks Tomczyk from Exizent. The session was a real hit and offered a great insight for our attendees.
We were then joined by Matt Huggett who is the 59th President of CILEX. He spoke to our attendees about how CILEX can be a great option for those entering the industry and those already a part of it wanting to reaffirm their knowledge and become qualified.
Amelia Sordell, founder of Klowt, the personal branding agency took to the stage next. She spoke about how you can make the most of your online presence and use this to build your business. Our attendees were really engaged with this and took full advantage of the chance to ask questions to Amelia.
We next heard from our events Pole Position Sponsors, Estatesearch and their Company Director Ben Furlong. In line with the theme of the day Ben spoke about how innovation in traditional services is transforming will bank management. They collected live data from our attendees and used this as part of their presentation. It was a real pleasure to hear from our headline sponsors and our attendees thoroughly enjoyed the session.
Our final guest speaker was the legendary Frank Bruno who was joined by Nick Owens, his long-term friend and co-author of his latest book ‘60 Years A Fighter’ (signed copies of which were given away by our Corporate Sponsors Legacy Wills & Estate Planning). Frank was a truly inspiring speaker and hearing about his career highs and personal struggles kept everyone captivated. It truly was a sight to see the standing ovation at the end of his talk!
Once again, Trevor Worth took to the stage to close the day. He also took this time to make the announcement that he was stepping down as chair of the Foundation. This was followed by the announcement of existing Advisory Board member, Philip Pamment as the new Chair and Trevor as the Best Foundation’s first ever Fellow and Honorary President.
We are truly thankful to everyone who played a part in the day; our guest speakers, our sponsors, our exhibitors and our attendees. We couldn’t have done it without you all!
